Hello everyone! My name is Felicia and I am a CanFit Pro Certified Personal Trainer and Coach here at Project Rise!
As a very young child I struggled with being overweight. And for a long time I battled with trying to stay consistent with fitness. When I was in Grade 8 I started swimming lessons and I decided to join every single sports team I could. I was able to lose quite a lot of weight and remained fairly active all throughout high school. However, once university rolled around my activity level dropped significantly and instead I turned to stress/emotional eating. I developed a toxic relationship with my body and food leading me to gain weight again. At that point, my lifestyle had become a battle of yo-yo dieting and inconsistent bursts of physical activity.
After leaving an unhealthy relationship I decided it was time to make a lifestyle change. I needed to gain my confidence back and learn to love ME. I knew that if I was healthy, I would feel better about myself. I enjoyed being active but I needed to find an activity I loved and in my search I fell in love with Project RISE and calisthenics/weight training. Here I was able to build a new relationship with fitness. Since starting my journey here it has truly changed my life and has inspired me to want to help and change the lives of others who may have felt the same way I did.
My goal as a Coach is to provide my clients with as much knowledge as possible when it comes to exercises and movements to help them understand the human body. I incorporate calisthenics training with weights and resistance training to help my clients achieve their ultimate goals while keeping it light, fun and challenging!
